Sin City

Conrad's dreamed of going to Las Vegas for as long as we've been together. I surprised him with a trip last weekend. It was fun to get away, and the weather was AMAZING!

The MGM Grand, our hotel.

A cute leopard at The Secret Garden of Siegfried and Roy.

Conrad's favorite...View from the top of the Stratosphere.

My favorite...PHANTOM!! It was super amazingly wonderful!
It was Conrad's first time seeing it and he enjoyed it too.

Opening Night

My sister Christine and I went to see Wicked last night. I loved it! I'd never seen it, so didn't realize it was about the friendship between "The Good Witch" and "The Wicked Witch". My favorite scene was the near the end when Glinda and Elphaba sang For Good.

I've heard it said
That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return
Well, I don't know if I believe that's true
But I know I'm who I am today
Because I knew you...

What a great night. Thank you for the tickets, Maria!

Dallin came over to play with Isaac this afternoon. They were playing hide and seek when they decided that wrestling would be more fun. I made them stop before someone got hurt, but it was so cute I had to take pictures first.

They took turns letting each other win.

It's so nice for them to have a buddy right next door.

Love one another

Since I was a recipient of Katie's gift she double-dog-dared me to do it too. Okay not really dared me, but I was getting the vibe. Plus I couldn't have her thinking I was lazy! Oh wait, she already knows I am. Anyway this is how it goes...

The first five people to leave a comment on this blog will receive something made by me; however, there are some limitations.
1. I make no guarantee that you will like what I make.
2. What I create will be just for you.
3. It will be done this year (might take awhile.)
4. No clues about what it's going to be.
5. I reserve the right to do something strange (it is me after all.)
6. You can post a comment even if you don't have a blog.

Truckin'

Ethan is always coming up with silly things to pull behind his bike or scooter. I had to take a picture when I saw him scooter by pulling the trailer, and toy box. I'm glad that even though he's entering his "I'm cool" years he can still be a silly kid.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious bowl

Conrad hadn't been able to watch the Superbowl in eight years, because he worked the weekend shift. In celebration of his being home to watch we had a party with my family. The game was fine, but it was so hilariously fun playing SingStar.

After I took the picture Ethan said, "I couldn't smile
good, because I had food in my mouth." It was
funny considering Conrad's carrot-smile.

Shelly and Jack at halftime.
During Larry Fitzgerald's 64 yard run everyone was yelling, "GO! GO! GO!" Jack and Gustav got scared and started crying. It was so sad.

Beachy Keen

Katie and I were able to get away for the weekend to Lincoln City. It was super fun. We laughed so much, and the weather was amazing!

We went shopping at Tanger Outlets, and did some serious retail therapy. A few of my best deals were Nike shoes for Ethan $11.99, Gap T-shirts for Conrad $1.37 each, Gap jacket for Ethan $4.17, Old Navy Jeans for the boys $4.99 each.
My shopping from the first day.

We saw the movie Bride Wars. It was cute. “Sometimes in life there really are bonds formed that can never be broken. Sometimes you really can find that one person who will stand by you no matter what. Maybe you will find it in a spouse and celebrate it with your dream wedding. But there's also the chance that the one person you can count on for a lifetime, the one person who knows you sometimes better than you know yourself is the same person who’s been standing beside you all along.” Marion St. Claire (The wedding planner)

I'm so lucky to have a best friend living next door. It makes life so much more fun. "Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light." ~Helen Keller
